Every photograph is a moment that happens once; the light changes. The animal moves. The weather turns. A place is altered, abandoned, reclaimed, or disappears entirely. Even when I return to the same place, I can never make the same photograph again.

That is what draws me to photography.

I carry old film cameras because they force me to slow down and pay attention. There is no screen to check afterward and no endless stream of frames. I look, I wait, and when something feels worth remembering, I press the shutter.

I’m drawn to the Pine Barrens, wildlife, forgotten places, and ordinary things that become extraordinary for just a moment.

These photographs are my way of keeping a small piece of that moment after it has passed.
